Providing RE resources for local schools

Local churches and individuals provide us with vital support.  This enables us to provide lessons, assemblies and resources for schools in the Watford area.

If you wish to donate towards the work of the Trust, please contact our Treasurer, Mrs Melanie Sills, via our email address on the Home page.

The NativityFor Christmas 2007, all Primary and Junior schools were given a copy of the delightful book ‘The Nativity Story’ by award winning author Geraldine McCaughrean.

The First Christmas

Infant schools received a copy of ‘The First Christmas’, by Lois Rock, who is well known as a writer of excellent books for younger children.

We have received some lovely letters from the children in response to our Christmas workshop at Beechfield School in North Watford. Here are some extracts:

I really enjoyed learning about the things that I never knew before, now I know what Christmas means.

I have learnt that Christmas isn’t just about presents and money, it is about celebrating the birth of Jesus.

I hope you can come again soon and tell us some more facts about Jesus.

It was an explosion of fun.

IT’S YOUR MOVE! 2008

The Trust offers the Scripture Union book ‘It’s Your Move!’ to all Primary and Junior Schools in the area.  In 2005 we were able to provide more than 1400 copies.  A further 1500 copies were distributed in 2006 and for the last two summers we have given 1550 books to locIt's Your Move 06al schools.  Several churches have provided the finance for a school in their locality to benefit from this publication, which is designed to help Year 6 pupils who are moving on to secondary school. In 2008 we again used our ‘It’s Your Move!’ workshop ‘Changes, Challenges and Choices’ in schools, to help the children explore the book. This year some of our youth ministers joined us in this enterprise.
